Tiny House in Jeju Island

The purpose of this project was to design a tiny stationary house to be located in a country that I have not been to. It has to captures the essences of the local vernacular, while also embracing energy efficiency, cultural cohesion, and overall 21st century appropriateness.

The design is a 300 square feet, two levels and a second level at 80 square feet tiny house located on a plot of ex-agricultural land near the village of Pyeondae on the volcanic island northeastern coast in Jeju Island.

Jeju Island is well-known for their beach resorts and volcanic landscape of craters and cave like lava tubes. The local design concept that I used was the volcanic stone as it is a popular material used in house construction.

The project included many drawings such as construction plan, lighting and electrical plan, exterior elevations, interior section, roof plan, finish schedule, and furniture layout, and Axonometric view of the space.
